Always annoying when something breaks, fortunately you can easily find out what the problem is with the steps below.

It is unlikely that the parent unit itself is defective, it is more likely that there is something wrong with one of the components.

You can figure this out for yourself by following the steps below:


 First, make sure that the adapter is not connected.

Then open the cover on the back of the parents' unit.

Check whether the plug that connects the battery is properly connected.

If this is not the case or if you are in doubt, remove the plug and put it back in place, making sure that you press the plug firmly in place.


 Now close the battery cover, place the unit in the charger and plug the power adapter into the wall socket. 

The power lamp on the charger should turn red and the unit should charge. The power lamp on the unit will then light up.


  • If the light does not come on, move the plug of the power adapter up and down in the charging cradle. If the light sometimes comes on and sometimes does not, it is possible that the connection in the charging cradle is not working properly.
  • Check whether the contact points of the charging cradle both protrude as high as possible, and check whether the contact points at the bottom of the parent unit are clean. If they are not clean, clean them or run a fine grade sandpaper over them. Now press the unit firmly into the charging cradle, if the charging cradle lights up red and the power light on the parent unit does not, there may unfortunately be a defect in the battery.
