We understand it’s frustrating when the parent unit is not charging as expected. The steps below will help you check what might be causing the issue.
In most cases, the parent unit itself is not defective, but a component such as the battery, adapter or connection.
Please check the following:
- Unplug the adapter from the power outlet.
- Open the cover on the back of the parent unit.
- Check if the battery is making proper contact with the contact points.
If you are unsure, remove the battery and gently bend the contact points slightly outward using a small flat screwdriver so they make better contact.
Then test again:
- Reinsert the battery and close the cover.
- Connect the adapter.
- Turn on the parent unit.
What do you see on the screen?
- No charging icon visible:
The adapter may not be working properly. - Charging icon reacts when moving the cable:
The connection may not be making proper contact. - Charging icon works normally:
The adapter is working, the battery may be the cause.
