By following the steps below you can try to solve this.

1. Aim the camera directly at the baby and not through the bars of the cot. If this is the case, the camera will focus on the bars and the image behind them will become blurred.  

2. If you point the camera at a white wall, the camera will adjust the light to be darker. This also happens the other way round, if you point the camera at a dark surface. 

3. The distance between the camera and the baby can also cause the camera to adjust itself to a darker light. You can check at which distance the camera gives the best picture.
